Thankful Thursdays

I'm thankful for:

• people who leave a lasting legacy. Coach Jackson went to college with my Dad and was my 6th grade gym teacher. He was very much the disciplinarian who obviously loved his students dearly
• the rain that is headed our way this weekend
• being able to help others

Thankful Thursdays

I'm thankful for:

• busy days at work
• new clothes
• lots of tomatoes on our plants that are almost ready to be picked and savored
• the coffee that Mike's parents brought us from Hawaii (chocolate macadamia nut, yum!)

Some Like it Hot

But I'm not one of them.

I'd much rather be here.

Here, the high right now is 80 and the temperatures flirt with freezing at night.

Unfortunately, the above location will have to wait until Christmas (and the high will be far lower) but until then, I'm enjoying the cool comforts of our basement.

Thankful Thursdays

I'm thankful:

• for the beautiful weather we're having - nothing like sitting out on the deck at the end of the day
• that tomorrow is Friday - for a short week, it sure has been long
• for another weekend with family in town, even it it isn't for long

Summer Salad

This was my dinner tonight. Lettuce, avocado, tomatoes from my vines,

and PW's tequila lime chicken. (it was good but not great). I'm stuffed.

July 4 Weekend

It was pretty quiet around our house - we took it easy and it was wonderful. Other than going to my grandparents house to watch the fireworks, we hung around home and I played with some decor around the house.

I redid the wreath on our front door. I found the raffia ribbon at Hobby Lobby the other day and was SO excited. My Mom used to use it on wreaths she made - it comes like a rope and you untwist it and it looks great!
I also got a new hook to hang the hand towel on in the basement bathroom. Yay for $2 at Hobby Lobby!
We didn't have anything on the walls in the basement bathroom so I took a floater frame that we had and put some scrapbook paper in it. The center piece has a "D" on it because I didn't know what else to put on there. It adds so much though and didn't cost me a thing!

I'm thankful for:

• a four day weekend (YAHOO!)
• the opportunity Mike and I had to see The Eagles on Thursday night. AMAZING. I would go again in a heartbeat.
• everyone who has fought and is fighting for our country's Independence. Thank you!
